Text Messages

Tipsy LLC texts guests one thing: a copy of their receipt, when they ask for it. Texts come from Tipsy's toll-free number, +1 (888) 695-2520, on behalf of the restaurant or bar where the guest paid, and name that venue. Tipsy sends no marketing or promotional texts.

How a guest asks for a text

A text goes only to a mobile number the guest gave for that receipt. Nothing is pre-filled, and a guest who gives no number gets no text. There are two ways to ask:

  1. On the receipt page. Every printed receipt carries a QR code that opens the guest's receipt at tipsyapp.io/receipt/…. The guest types their mobile number in the Mobile field and taps Send my receipt.
  2. At the register. The guest asks their server to text the receipt and tells them the number. The server types it in “Email or text the receipt” on the pay screen.

Both screens show the same notice under the number field:

The receipt page also has the venue's own unticked box for birthday treats and offers. That box is consent to the venue's emails, applies only to an email address, and is never consent to texts.

Stopping texts and getting help

Reply STOP to any text to stop texts to that number. You get one confirmation, which says you can reply START to get texts again, and nothing more.

Reply HELP for help. The reply reads: “Tipsy receipts: help at support@tipsyapp.io. Reply STOP to opt out. Msg&Data rates may apply.”

Your number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, other than the SMS delivery provider that carries the message on Tipsy's behalf.
